With a field of 210 riders on a typical Belgian day, Windy with showers and cold. On a technical and demanding 11km circuit.
Ben in his standard style attacked 500m into the race taking another rider with him, although not being able to live with the pace Ben attacked, doing a lap solo before a group of five bridged across. Behind Will had managed to get into a counter move of 9 riders. This group merged with the front group to make 16 riders. With two laps to go the attacks started and the groups began to split.
Into the final lap there was two distinct groups a six including Ben and a chase group containing Will. Ben took a great 4th place narrowly missing the win to a BMC Devo rider, with Will sprinting in for 12th. In the bunch after some great positioning work by Brad and Tom, Jack sprinted to take 5th from the bunch with Alex just behind.
All in all a great first day 4 riders in the top 30, with Ben taking five primes whilst out at the front of the race.
