"Sean Kelly famously said his favourite bicycle was the 'one he didn't have to pay for' when asked by a reporter. However I think most people can recognise that bikes ride differently and many people have had favourite ones. I was therefore excited but slightly apprehensive to receive my new Cube Agree GTC Race from Skinnergate Cycles for the 2015 season, especially when I had raced on a Cervelo R3 all of last year.
After a week in Spain though with my Cube Agree I have to say it is more than a match for any bike I have ever ridden, which I found even more surprising when considering how low the price is, at an RRP of only £1399 with full Ultegra 11s. The race geometry and stable bottom bracket may not feel quite as 'twitchy' as other bikes, but instead it gives you the confidence to really enjoy riding the bike. Probably the biggest change I had to adapt to from last year's bike was remembering how Shimano levers worked again after several years on SRAM and also remembering that Shimanos new dual pivot calipers have remarkably more stopping power than SRAM's do.
I'm therefore really looking forward to riding and racing on a Cube this year, and would definitely put them on your list of brands to consider if looking for a new bike. Now the aim is just to get some results for Achieve Northside Skinnergate Racing on the bike with my teammates and get some much deserved publicity for all our sponsors that make the whole thing possible"
