Today following on from the team's success at the Highfield Kitchens event yesterday the team of both competed in the Danum Trophy near Doncaster.
The team marshaled the race excellently with Tom and Will setting up Ben Hetherington to get in the early move with eventual winner Graham Briggs. The two of them worked together and built up a large lead.
Behind the race started to split with the team making sure to be represented in major moves. Eventually however Harry Tanfield and Joe Moses managed to make contact with the front pair, leaving Ben outnumbered 3/1 by JLT Condor.
Behind Tom made a solo effort for a lap to bridge across which was unfortunately unsuccessful but allowed Will to get away in another small break, ensuring the team was still represented.
Up the road Ben was having to respond to constant attacks from all 3 riders. However Ben was able to respond to all the moves until a decisive move by Briggs with a lap to go to take a solo win. Ben however still had enough in his legs to take 2nd place solo by offloading the remaining 2 JLT condor riders. Will and Dave also managed to stay away in the chasing move, with Ben clipping off the front of what remained of the bunch with a kilometre to go to ensure the team had four riders in the top 20.
This sets the team up perfectly for Belgium racing next weekend.
