Fantastic to receive continued support from the Ord family.
"Achieve Cycling has revitalized a former time trial in the Thomas Ord Memorial Criterium. The Thomas Ord Cup began in 1969, set up by Barney Ord, a keen amateur cyclist who rode both track and road events in the 1950's; in memory of his father, an enthusiastic cyclist in the 1920's.
Organised by the Cleveland Couriers Cycling Club, the time trail started and finished on Clay Bank near Stoklesley, it was the very last race of the season and was described in the RTTC Handbook as '42 miles and hilly'. Gillian Ord, joint owner of Mosquito Bikes, is the only family member to have ridden in the time trail. The event ran between 1969 and 1998 ending as road traffic increased on the narrow roads used for the event.
The new event, run for the first time at the end of the 2013 season, was a series of two races across different categories. The Ord family are delighted to provide the cup for the winner of the series and to have the opportunity to be associated with a new cycling initiative in the area, with the series expanding to six events in 2014."
Eighteen of the team out for a great 3h00 team ride today, starting to work on specific skills before the inclusion of longer blocks of effort and more intensity in the new year.
More fantastic feedback from the Retul Bike Fitting from team rider David Atkinson;
"A big thanks to Andy at Triology Multisport, for my Reutl fit today. Highly recommend taking the time out to do this, some changes made, and great knowledge for future bikes. Great bloke and really helpful. Also thanks Jack at Achieve Skinnergate Racing for securing Triology as a fantastic sponsor for this season."
