Micheal took the teams first win of the season today at the TLI North West Circuits in Blackpool
On a much varied course from yesterday with steep hills, tight turns and farm tracks. The team rode well thoughtout as a unit staying well positioned toward the front of the field, once again there were a number of crashes which we mana...ged to luckily avoid. Despite a number of attacks throughout nothing stuck and the race came down to a big bunch finish with Ben best placed followed by Jack in the top 40, Tom and Craig also placed well in the front half of the bunch. The race was run off at 44.5kph.
This concludes a fantastic 240km of racing for the riders and great preparation for the first major UK event the Tour of the Reservoir.
At the BBM Race in Yorkshire, despite lots of attacking riding, the race ended in a big bunch sprint with Rich and Matty finishing safely in the main field.
In the Welland Valley CC Hilly Time Trail, Carl Dyson was 2nd just six seconds off the win.
Highfields Kitchen Series
E/1/2; in a very aggressive race, the team rode excellently, with Ben and Will making the lead group of five, and Jack, Craig and Tom in the chase group of six. Although the gap came down to 8seconds it was never closed, leaving the group of five up front fighting for the win, we unfortunately lost Ben to a late puncture with Will ending in 4th and the best rider for the team. Tom and Craig rode strongly behind for 5th and 6th with Jack sprinting in for 7th. James had also forced a successful move at the front of the bunch for 13th and Jake sprinting strongly for 15th from what remained of the bunch.
3/4; Despite some strong riding throughout the team were unfortunately out of the main positions in the finale with Rob, best placed in 11th.
4th; In Jasons first season he was riding strongly throughout at the head of the race, but he was unluckily boxed in on the final lap, finishing just outside of the main positions.
The team are racing tomorrow at the BBM Bikes race in West Yorkshire and the CDNW event at Cockermouth.
Strong rides by the regional team at the Sloan Trophy, Alex 6th, Matty 8th and Richard 13th.
Adam Martin who rides for Metaltek Kuota and is head of our Cyclo Cross programmes won the race.
In the CDNW near Kendal, Tom was 12th from a very strong field including teams from Madison Genesis, Velosure-Giordana and Wheelbase MGD
Today saw me take part in the Wansbeck Australian Pursuit Road Race this was my third event of the season.
I started of in the scratch group which had a handicap of 8 minutes to the front of the race. The wind was strong all race making the race very hard and selective from the gun. The scratch group worked well to bring the groups back, it took just over 3 and a half laps to bring it all together. As it came all together I thought it was a good time to attack, I got a gap with Chris Mark of NRG Cycles RT, after half a lap the gap was at over 45 seconds.
With the group chasing behind the gap came down and we were swept up by the leading group of 11 riders with half a lap to go in the head wind section of the course. The race started to get more aggressive with attack after attack none of which was successful, I also attempted a few late attacks which all came to nothing, It came down to the last km I lead the sprint out from the final corner but the bunch came back onto me, I managed to hang on in the uphill headwind sprint for 5th place, overall I was pleased with the way I rode the race and I feel my condition is improving every race. I am looking forward to this coming weekend where I am racing both Saturday and Sunday, and I hope to show myself further.
Overall a good race for the team with the majority of our riders starting in the third group with an 8 min handicap to the front of the race. After some cohesive work from the scratch group, on the hour the race was all together. Unlucky at this point the team had lost three riders due to punctures and mechanicals. Almost immediately after the groups coming together Ben attacked taking Chris Mark of NRG Cycles with him, these two built an advantage at the head of the race, behind a natural selection had happened in the stong wind with a group of 15 riders chasing the two up front, Tom, Will and Rich were in this group for the team. On the bell lap the group was all back together and despite a number of attacks the group entered the final uphill finishing straight still together. Ben despite his earlier efforts was the teams best rider in 5th, with Will 7th and Tom just outside the top ten.

We are delighted to announce that the team have been awarded a wildcard slot for the Pearl Izumi Tour Series!
We will be riding between three and five rounds which are TBC over the series in May and June.
A relatively quiet weekend for the team, with the Highfields Kitchen Series E/1/2 the only event. Steve continued his excellent recent form with 4th from the race winning move, with Callum 10th after being active all race and Christian 12th from the bunch.
The rest of the team returned from an excellent weeks training in Mallorca on Friday and we will have a full team at next weekends Wansbeck APR.
